A PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

In consideration of yesterday, September 19, 2010, meeting held at the Williamstown Fairgrounds, I have made a decision to process a vote for our paying members of last year, which are on the OFATV Association membership lists given to us from the previous executive comittee.  This vote will determine to myself and my executive committee which route our members would like to follow.  I have made this decision as there seems to be many different views on the subject of should we remain OFATV affiliated or return to non-affiliated OFATV as we had been for many years previously.  If you do not receive a ballot in the next few days, as we have mailed them out today September 20, 2010, then contact myself via the website to advise that you were not included in the mail out and thus we can determine if you do have the privilege to have a vote.

Let me advise you that the fee for a season if we are not affiliated with the OFATV Association would be $100.00 if paid by Noveber 30, 2010 and $60.00 for each additional atv with the same address.  If you purchase a season pass after November 30, 2010 the fee would be $ 120.00.  Let me also state that we do not pay HST in our fees as we are HST exempt as we are  a non-profit organization with low dollar amount of income.  The fees the OFATV Association is $ 132.74 plus HST for a total of $ 150.00 with our club only retaining $70.00 per membership.  The savings would be considerable to our members by not being affiliated with the OFATV Association.

Possibly you feel I am bias in my information but I only am providing you this information to be upfront and open to you as a member when you decide which way to vote. The ballots will be opened in an open forum at the clubhouse on Summerstown Rd on Saturday,  October 2, 2010 at 2 pm., therefore you should mail your ballot at the earliest in order it to reach us by this date.  If you want you could bring your ballot that day to the clubhouse but it has to be received by 2 pm. that day, anyone can attend this meeting and we would like to have an outdoor fire after the meeting, so bring whatever company and refreshments you desire.  In closing, I feel this vote has to be done to finalize any differences among the membership and thus we move forward into the future as one membership and not divided.

Your President,
Rene Poirier

A PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

A meeting was held on April 7, 2010 in Green Valley for all Glendaler atv members.  There was a vote for a new executive committee and a new committee was elected.  I would like to take this time to introduce myself as the new President of The Glendaler's Winter Sports Club.

My name is Rene Poirier and I reside just outside of Alexandria, Ontario and have been a member of the club for several years. I would like to take this time and introduce my new executive committee consisiting of Jason Racine, Vice-President.  Suzanne Chartrand, Treasurer.  My new committee has appointed Diane Pare as Acting Secretary at this time, this will be confirmed at our first meeting by our members; which is tentatively planned for mid August 2010.  I shall inform yourselves a confirmed date for the meeting and the location when determined.  The South Trail Administrator is Mike Miller and the North Trail Administrator is (acting) Daniel Delage.

A meeting was held on June 7, 2010 by the new executive committee and the previous executive committee in Alexandria, Ontario.  At the meeting it was agreed that the new committee has taken over the reigns and responsibility of The Glendaler's Winter Sports Club.  We are in the process of transferring all financial information as well as assets and liabilities of the club to the new executive committee.

I would like to take this time in asking the members that read this letter to inform other members to go to this website as further information will be provided as it is ascertained by the executive committee, as this website is the most efficient means of informing our members of current situations and advising of upcoming meetings as the new committee now operates the website.

Before closing, I would like to state that my position as the New President, of The Glendaler's Winter Sports Club, is to hold a meeting in August 2010 and have as many members attend a meeting to have a "VOTE BY BALLOT" to determine if the members would want to continue with the OFATV Association or to release our club from the affilliation of the OFATV and return as a private club as it had been for all previous years prior to our affilliation with the OFATV ASSOCIATION.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to a very exciting year ahead of us and hopefully we will have a great turnout at the first meeting for the vote as it would give our membership an answer on which outcome the members would like to move forward on.  Remind your fellow members of this letter, as well, we as members should attempt to rally members/families that had not renewed in the past several years to get out and join our club as this club is to enjoy the outdoors while riding as well as meeting a great group of people.

Thank you
Rene Poirier, President
Glendaler's Winter Sports Club.
