President Message
It has come to my attention that some members feel there will be or should be a Club Meeting in the very near future. Well this message should answer any of those members who raise this issue and have uncertainty of where the club is going.

Firstly, we no longer have a place to conduct our meetings, since the Knights of Columbus on Purcell Rd has been out of service for our use. We had attempted holding meetings at the main clubhouse with very little turnout or interested members. Secondly, we have requested volunteers on several occasions to cut wood, fill the woodshed at Clubhouse and Peanut Shack, as well as trail maintenance or assist where required. To date we have had 3 students and 3 adults step forward and volunteer their time in helping. The grass to and around the Clubhouse had to be bush-hogged and again an executive member had to give their time in performing this task. Due to limited time in preparing the trails and getting paperwork in order for the upcoming season; we as an executive committee can only spread ourselves so far as there is only so many hours in a day that we too have available to run the club. We shall advise when a meeting shall be; when we ourselves get caught up in these activities. We are not avoiding having a meeting; but want to take this time in explaining the reasoning for the delay.

Secondly, I shall take this time in advising that we tentatively have scheduled a Club Poker Run for January 14, 2012 and are going to approach the United Way to see if they shall also do a run. So if you know anyone who can donate prizes to our Poker Run it would be most helpful in receiving this information from our members, and again volunteers are needed.

Thirdly, we do realize the concern of our members for the South Trail from Rae Rd to Summerstown Rd and are attempting to reopen the trail. We are planning a trail on the North side of Paragon Rd; but this too takes time. We are doing our best as this is a vital part of our trail system for all our members. Last year we overcame this scenario for the trail from Hwy 18 to Beaupre Rd by making a new trail through Mr. Steve Gareau's farmland. This also was completed with a handful of volunteers.; and costs money to perform.

To summarize, trail passes are on sale at the outlets indicated on the Trail Pass page of the website. The trail system shall be opened as usual when the weather/landowners allow us to. We are planning events. We are attempting to have a new trail for Paragon RD. MOST IMPORTANTLY, let me take this time and remind our members that our club is as strong as our membership and our members volunteering their help keep this a fun, enjoyable outdoor winter activity; as at the end of this season a new executive committee shall be needed as this current committee's two year obligation nears an end.
